TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Lightning are holding a rookie camp, presented by the Embassy Suites Downtown, this week until Friday at the Brandon Ice Sports Forum in Florida.
During the Lightning rookie camp 19 players will be split into two groups (Groups 1 and 2). The format of the camp each day will be separate practices or on-ice testing sessions for each group in the morning with a joint practice and scrimmage in the afternoon. The only day that will not fit that format will be Friday when the groups will have a joint practice and scrimmage at 10 a.m.
The Lightning rookies will take to the ice on Tuesday, September 8. Notable players include forwards Aston Carter, Mitch Fadden, Alex Hutchings, Richard Panik, Matias Sointu and Dana Tyrell. Notable defensemen include Victor Hedman, Vladimir Mihalik, Kevin Quick and Ty Wishart, as well as goaltender Dustin Tokarki. A complete roster follows.
Players attending the rookie camp are also expected to attend Lightning Training Camp, presented by Embassy Suites Downtown.
