Keith Phillips (AKA "Beeker") is a native of Newport News, Va. He graduated from Old Dominion University in December 2005 with a B.S. in Communication and minor in History. He started with the Admirals as an intern in December of 2001 and continued to work as an intern/volunteer for five seasons. He was brought on board as Media Relations Coordinator in May 2006 and became Director of Media Relations in the summer of 2007. In July 2012, Phillips' title was changed to Director of Communications to better reflect his duties outside of media relations.
Phillips acts a liaison between the Admirals and all media contacts and also manages all Admirals digital media assets. Duties include running norfolkadmirals.com and all Admirals social media assets such as Facebook and Twitter. Phillips also manages the content, editing, layout and design director for publications such as the souvenir program and media guide.
Besides the Admirals, Phillips’ favorite sports teams are the Washington Capitals, Washington Redskins and the Baltimore Orioles.
