Results Announced for Chilled Ponds Admirals Skills Showdown

NORFOLK, Va. – The second segment of the Admirals Skills Showdown concluded on Monday evening at Chilled Ponds Ice & Turf Sports Complex in Chesapeake. Over 25 participants registered to show off their hockey skills, meet Admirals players Kevin Quick and Dana Tyrell, and take part in the four-event competition on the ice.

Players ranging in age 4 to 14 competed against each other and the clock, in hope of securing a spot in the second annual Admirals Skills Showdown final on March 20, held at Norfolk Scope. Additional details and final notification for all winners will be given in January 2010. Congratulations go out to all the participants for making this a successful event.

First and second place finishers among players are awarded a spot in the finals, as well as the top goaltender from each of the six divisions. The finalists are:

Next up on the Admirals’ docket is a meeting with the Syracuse Crunch this Friday at Scope. The puck drops against the Admirals’ newest East Division rival at 7:15 p.m. Fans should head to Scope to catch this game before the Admirals hit the road for 14 of their next 18 games.
