Admirals Move Into Third Place Tie With Win Over Phantoms

ADIRONDACK, N.Y. – Dustin Tokarski made 36 saves and Justin Keller’s shorthanded goal late in the second period was the difference as the Norfolk Admirals (22-23-3-0) topped the Adirondack Phantoms (22-21-2-1) 2-1 on Saturday night at the Glens Falls Civic Center.

The final game of the road trip is a matchup tomorrow afternoon against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at 3:00. The Admirals return to Scope on Wednesday to face the division-leading Hershey Bears.

Adirondack took a 1-0 lead on a power play goal 15:25 into the first period. Marc-Andre Bourdon sent a shot from the blueline that bounced off Admirals goaltender Dustin Tokarski into the slot. Patrick Maroon found the rebound and fired a quick shot past Tokarski.

The Admirals tied the game with just 29 seconds left in the first period. Mitch Fadden carried the puck into the attacking zone along the left wing and centered a pass from the left faceoff dot into the slot. Matt Fornataro deflected the puck past Adirondack goaltender John Grahame for his fourth goal of the season.

Norfolk took a 2-1 lead with a Justin Keller shorthanded goal at 16:48 of the second period.
