TAMPA BAY, Fla. – The Tampa Bay Lightning, NHL parent club of the Norfolk Admirals, have recalled defenseman Vladimir Mihalik from the Admirals today, Lightning Executive Vice President and General Manager Brian Lawton announced.
Mihalik, 6-foot-7, 240 pounds, has played in 70 games with Norfolk this season, recording two goals and 17 points. He leads all Admirals defensemen, and is second overall on the team, in plus/minus rating with a plus-8. Mihalik also ranks third among Norfolk rearguards in points.
A native of Presov, Slovakia, Mihalik has played in 11 career NHL games, all with the Lightning last season. He has amassed three career points, all assists. Mihalik has played in 199 career AHL games, all with Norfolk, recording five goals and 48 points with a plus-13 rating.
Mihalik was drafted by the Lightning in the first round, 30th overall, of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
The Admirals will conclude a five-game homestand tomorrow night against the Atlantic Division-leading Worcester Sharks. The game begins at 7:15 p.m.
Tomorrow night is the tenth annual Muscular Dystrophy Association Jersey Auction, presented by PAPCO. The Admirals will don one-of-a-kind jerseys during the game.
