Admirals to Face W-B/Scranton in First Round of 2011 Calder Cup Playoffs
NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk Admirals will open the 2011 Calder Cup Playoffs with a best-of-seven series against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Friday, April 15, at 7:05 p.m. in Wilkes-Barre Township, Pennsylvania.
The Admirals finished the regular season with a 39-26-9-6 record, good for 93 points and a fourth place finish in the American Hockey League’s East Division. With tonight's win in Connecticut, Norfolk moved one point ahead of the Binghamton Senators for fourth place.
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton finished the 2010-11 season with the best record in the American Hockey League, going 58-21-0-1 for 117 points. Norfolk won three of eight matchups against the Penguins in the 2010-11 regular season head-to-head matchup. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton won two games in a shootout.
Playoff hockey returns to Norfolk Scope Arena for the first time in four years on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, April 19, 20 and 22, for Games Three, Four and Five (if necessary) in the series against the Penguins.
Individual playoff tickets for home games in the Norfolk Admirals' first round matchup against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins are now on sale at the Norfolk Scope Box Office, all Ticketmaster Outlets, charge-by-phone at 1-800-745-3000 and online at ticketmaster.com.
Individual playoff tickets range in price from $13.00 - $18.00 when purchased in advance of the day of a game. Students through high school, active military with valid identification and senior citizens receive $1 off single game tickets at the Scope Box Office. Group discounts are also available when purchased in advance through the Admirals group sales office.
In addition, the Admirals will continue to offer midweek Value Nights including the popular Family Fun Packs, presented by SunTrust, and Student Rush Night tickets. These special offers will be available for all Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday home games throughout the 2011 Calder Cup Playoffs.
Family Fun Packs, presented by SunTrust, include four discounted Red Level Tickets for just $52 plus four free hot dogs, four free popcorns and four free sodas. Fans get all of that for just $52 – that’s a savings of $37! Student Rush Nights provide $9 White Level Tickets (normally $13) for students with a valid current high school or college ID.
During the playoffs, Family Fun Packs are ONLY available at the Scope Box Office. Student Rush Night Tickets are available ONLY at the Scope Box Office after 2:00 p.m. on the day of the game.
