Reed Joins Admirals Staff as Director of Communications
NORFOLK, VA – The Norfolk Admirals announced today that Alex Reed has been named the team’s new Director of Communications.
Reed joins the Admirals front office after spending the past two seasons as the Public Relations Manager and Broadcaster for the Florida Everblades of the ECHL. Prior to joining Florida, the Virginia Beach native served in similar roles with the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL, 2010-11), and the Lewiston MAINEiacs (QMJHL, 2007-10).
"Alex will be a tremendous addition to the Norfolk Admirals Front Office," said Admirals Vice President & Governor Joe Gregory. "He brings a unique background of hockey experience while also having grown up in Hampton Roads. His knowledge of our area as well as the game of hockey will serve as a valuable resource to our fans."
Reed graduated with a master's degree in Journalism/Public Relations from Marshall University in 2007, while earning a bachelor's degree from Marshall in 2005.
“I am extremely excited about making the jump to the American Hockey League, and joining a first class organization such as the Admirals,” said Reed. “The opportunity to return to Hampton Roads and join the team that I grew up watching is pretty special to me.”
Reed takes over for Keith Phillips, who announced earlier this summer that he was leaving the team after his seven-year tenure to pursue other opportunities.
