Admirals Set to Welcome Moose to Scope for First Time

NORFOLK, VA – After splitting a pair of games against East Division rivals last week in Pennsylvania, the Norfolk Admirals will welcome the Manitoba Moose to the Scope for the first time this weekend.

The Admirals went 1-1 on their trip to Pennsylvania last weekend. Ryan Craig’s goal 1:32 into overtime gave the Admirals a 2-1 win against the Adirondack Phantoms in Philadelphia’s Wachovia Center on Friday. However, the Ads couldn’t hold on to the lead in Hershey the following Saturday night as they fell to the Bears 5-4.

The Admirals will host the Manitoba Moose at Scope for the first time in team history on Friday and Saturday. Both games begin at 7:15 p.m. Friday is Youth Jersey Giveaway Night. The first 500 kids age 12 and under through the Scope doors will receive an Admirals jersey courtesy of ITAC and WTKR NewsChannel3.

  • Before missing last weekend’s Norfolk games, Jones had played in 155 straight Admirals games dating back to December 27, 2007 – the second longest consecutive games played streak in AHL Admirals history (Marty Wilford, 168).
  • Jones (2G, 3A), Ryan Craig (2G, 4A) and Radek Smolenak (1G, 5A) each have points in their last four games played for the Admirals.
  • Mark Parrish, who was re-signed to a new 25-game Professional Tryout Contract earlier in the day, registered his first multiple-goal game as an Admiral on Saturday at Hershey.
  • Defenseman Scott Jackson has points and assists in back-to-back games (0G, 2A). He now leads the team with a +11 rating.
  • Forward Mitch Fritz played in his 500th professional game on Saturday at Hershey.
ADMIRALS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
