Saturday, January 15 vs. Bridgeport Sound Tigers (AHL Affiliate of the New York Islanders)
Join us for Pink in the Rink to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure on Saturday, January 15, 2011.
This popular annual event with an Admirals game played on pink ice will seek to educate and raise awareness about breast cancer while also raising monies for the Tidewater Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
A limited amount of tickets remain available for purchase for this game - act fast to get yours! Stop by the Scope Box Office, visit any Ticketmaster outlet, call 1-800-745-3000 or visit ticketmaster.com.
Tickets that were purchased through the Tidewater Affiliate of Susan G. Komen For the Cure that were not picked up in advance or mailed may be picked up at the special Susan G. Komen Will Call Table at Scope after 6:00 p.m. tonight.
Events leading up to and during the game include a breast cancer informational session, survivor participation during game night, "Hockey 101" and a silent auction for player-autographed Tampa Bay Lightning items. The "Hockey 101" will be held starting at 6:15 p.m. Seating is based on a first-come, first-served basis.
Educating women and men about the importance of early breast cancer detection is one of the primary goals of the event. Recent polls have shown that most women are unaware of the causes of or risks for breast cancer. Game attendees will learn about local programs, support groups and how they can decrease their risk.
The Admirals and Komen would like to extend special thanks to Care Free Boat Club, H&R Block and Best Value Remodeling for supporting Pink in the Rink 2011. Sponsorship opportunities are available through the Admirals’ offices by calling (757) 640-1212.
